Why we started Baltu
It started with the people around us
When we started Baltu, we kept hearing the same story from family, friends, and dozens of other people: they wanted access to the thousands of jobs opening up in semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and AI-related roles, but they needed a better pathway to get into them. Many were working multiple jobs, raising a family, could not afford traditional training, lived in remote areas, or had struggled in traditional learning environments. At the same time, employers were telling us they needed a more streamlined pipeline of people with the right skills, and not necessarily the degrees, to fill those roles. Baltu is our answer to both: a scalable way to help everyone in the workforce system move talent into great opportunities more effectively.

What we are working toward
Three outcomes we hold ourselves to, for the people and organizations we serve.
Skills that lead to a job
We approach workforce development backwards. We start with the jobs employers are hiring for, then build the pathways to reach them, instead of training first and hoping a job appears. Every skill a learner builds points at a real role.
A stronger talent pipeline
Employers are our customers, so our incentive is simple: get them top talent that is ready on day one. We are not incentivized to fill seats in a classroom. We are incentivized to put people in jobs.
Communities ready for what is next
We do not do this alone. Schools, nonprofits, and other community organizations are an integral part of how people get into high-quality roles, and we are here to support them, not replace them. We collaborate with partners to develop the people they serve and connect them to real opportunities.
